What's a polycrisis?
Polycrisis is a word we can use to discuss the human predicament.
There are other words and phrases that describe the same idea, some being metacrisis, The Great Turning, The Great Simplification, and more. See also: Wetiko.
Unlike singular issues with relatively simple solutions, polycrisis describes many interconnecting crises that compound upon each other and increase in severity and complexity over time, at least until human behaviour is changed.
In a polycrisis, it's difficult to percieve the boundaries of where one issue begins and another ends. That's because everything is interconnected - much more than many of us were brought up to believe (well, for sure in the Global North.)
It's challenging or impossible to view the entire scope of the crises at once. We can't see and understand the whole thing at one time, only pieces of it. But we can sense the intensity of what it means if we are willing to take a look at what's happening.
The polycrisis is a new type of challenge entirely. To address it, we have to work on our little piece of it and pass the torch to others so they can work on their part. There is no one person or group who will communicate or solve the entire thing.
In that way, we're being asked to root into our purpose, whatever that may be, and trust that others are doing the same on their end.
There's lots of people working on solutions to the polycrisis whether they're familiar with the term or not. From regenerative independant farmers to parents who are boycotting corporations and teaching their children skills for the future to healers who are decolonizing their practices, we are out there in big numbers.
The polycrisis affects all of us - no one will be able to escape it. But we can all do our part in mitigating the damage we cause to the Earth and each other. To be alive and conscious at this time on the planet is a brave, intentional, and loving choice. I'm proud of you and grateful to you for doing your part.

What can we do about the polycrisis?
Honestly, what can't we do about it? There are SO many things to do after we find out that mainstream society's ideas about "success" are actually erasing us.
Here are a few ideas:
- Teaching
- Growing food
- Avoiding corporations
- Unlearning consumerism
- Supporting LandBack
- Getting involved with mutual aid
- Reading, learning
- Doing inner work
- Helping others do that inner work
- Connecting with nature and source/god/universe
- Stregthening healthy conflict skills
- Learning about transformative justice
- Unlearning your colonial programming
- Saving and sharing seeds
- Baking and cooking for your family & community
The cool thing is that everyone has different answers to this question. Some might overlap, some might not. Whatever you choose to do, it probably will be/is the most meaningful work of your life.

Here's some of what I'm doing
For my part in this work, I've made major changes at home and at work. I'm always in the process of removing things, ideas, and habits from my life that don't support life or love. I'm one person in this beautiful mess of an interconnected soup of all that is and I'm very much in the thick of it with you, learning every day.
I also make videos, have a podcast, do some writing, and offer personal, pre-recorded readings for intuitively-guided people in the polycrisis.
You can check out all of that stuff here. ⬇️
